The Building Branch is under the direct control of Additional Commissioner-I. The Building Branch of the Municipal Corporation was established in the year
2007 by creating one Post of Divisional Town Planner and Two posts of Assistant Town Planner for preparation of development plan of Village Hallo Majra, Kajheri, Palsora, Maloya and Dadu Majra in a planned manner.

The Building Branch is enshrined with the
work for the preparation of development plan for orderly development of villages
falling under the jurisdiction of Municipal Corporation. The following
development plan of villages have been prepared. The F&CC of Municipal
Corporation has given its approval to the development plan which has been sent
to the Chandigarh Administration for its approval.

1. Development Plan of Village
Palsora.
2. Development Plan of Village Kajheri.
3. Development
Plan of Village Maloya.
4.Development Plan of Village Dadu Majra.
5. Development plan of Hallo Majra (under process).
6. Proposed
land use plan of Manimajra (sent for approval to the Chandigarh Administration).
7.Demand survey of the Diary in the villages have been conducted and is
being sent to the Finance Secretary-cum-Secretary Animal Husbandry for
ear-marking the cattle village so that the cattle from the villages may be
shifted. Conducting of demand survey for estimation of cattle
village.
8.The Panchayat land in the villages is being identified and
after demarcation from the Engineering Department it will be mutated in the name
of Municipal Corporation.

The Building By-laws of the villages
falling under the jurisdiction of Municipal Corporation are being enforced and
consequently a Building Plan Approval Committee has been constituted under the
Chairmanship of Additional Commissioner and the following are the

villages.
Enforcement of Building Rules
(i) For orderly
development of villages the building rules are being enforced affectively and
violation if any in erection/re-erection of building is informed to the owner by
serving the notice for demolition of unauthorized construction. If the violation
is not set right by the owner then the enforcement staff of the Municipal
Corporation take appropriate action to set right the violation.

Drive for removal of encroachment on Govt. land falling under the jurisdiction
of Municipal Corporation,
