Permission is required to be sought for the storage of building material on Municipal Land, both for public and private construction activity. The permission can be had from the Central Complaint Office, Sector 17, Chandigarh from 10.00 A.M. to 1.00 P.M. on all working days. Copy of the application form for seeking such permission is placed in the "Public Information" Link on the main page. If the material is stored without permission , residents are liable to be challaned.
Citizens are requested to dump malba at authorised malba dumping sites only. The malba dumping sites have been listed in the "Piblic Information" Link on the main page. In case the residents dump malba at unauthorised places, they are liable to be challaned.
Permission is required for the use of ground for holding social, religious and commercial activities. In case the tentage etc. is put up without permission, the residents are liable to pay penal charges. The permission for social and private religious functions can be had from the Central Complaint Office, Sector 17, Chandigarh. The permission for commercial and social, religious functions can be had from the O.S.D. in the Office of Chief Engineer, Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh between 12.00 to 1.00 P.M.
Citizens are requested to keep the verandas, circulation areas in the markets clear. The material stacked in the verandas will be removed and the violators are liable to be challaned.
Citizens shall not encroach upon the Municipal Land. The encroachments on the Municipal Land will be removed at the defaulters risk and cost.
No posters or any other advertising material shall be pasted on trees, Road Signages, Electric poles or any other Municipal Installations. Defaulters will be challaned.
Citizens shall ensure that there is no spillage of water on the roads on account of leaking overhead tanks, washing of vehicles or any other reason. The defaulters are liable to be challaned. If the spillage is not checked within 5 days, the water supply to the premises will be disconnected. Permission can be sought for erection of hedges on V-5 and V-6 roads only under the Hedges and Fences Bye-laws. The distance of hedges on V-5 and V-6 roads from the nearest road edge shall be 10' and 6' respectively. No hedges are allowed on V-3 and V-4 roads. Permission can be obtained from the Central Complaint Office on a prescribed format enclosed at Annexure 'C'. The hedges and fences erected without permission or in contravention of bye-laws will be removed at the defaulters cost.
Unauthorised openings in the parks, open space and road berms will be closed at the defaulters cost.
