The Tax Branch of the Municipal Corporation is headed by Sh. Nirmal Singh, Chief Accounts Officer. The Branch deals with the imposition of various taxes and also generation of resources for the Corporation. The Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh is planning to impose the Property Tax on the basis of Unit Area Rental Value method. Bye-Laws on Commercial Lands and Buildings and Self Assessment Scheme has been notified by the Chandigarh Administration recently.
